Thanks for using MapMyFitness, MapMyRun, MapMyRide, or MapMyWalk! To get started using the app, select the app icon from your home screen. If you haven't registered with us, you can create an account by tapping "Join Now." If you have registered in the past, tap "Existing Users" to enter your email and password.
The first time you open the app, you will be greeted with a request to allow your MapMy app to use your GPS/Location Services even when not in use. This needs to be enabled to accurately track your workouts.
The Location Services prompt can be restored by deleting and reinstalling the app.
Track Workout
The app's home page is the "Start Workout" screen. If you find yourself needing to return to this page but don't know how, tap the stopwatch icon in the middle of the navigation menu along the bottom of the screen.
To customize your workout settings, including activity type and voice feedback preferences, tap the Settings icon, near the upper right. This will open the Workout Setup page, which allows you to change activity type, enable voice feedback, and more. If you don't see the activity type you want, tap "See All Activities" to search our database for the correct activity.
Once your workout settings are correct, tap "Done" to return to the Track Workout screen. Then tap the "Start Workout" button to begin recording a workout.
After you start recording a workout, the app will track your route and display your workout statistics, including distance, duration, pace, calorie burn, and heart rate (if selected), as well as additional customizable stats.
To pause your workout, tap the "Pause" button. Once paused, you can either resume your workout or end your workout. To end your workout, hold down the "HOLD TO FINISH" Button. After finishing a workout, a workout cannot be resumed.
After finishing a workout, you will be able to customize your workout post. You can choose which stats you'd like displayed, add a note or photo to your workout, and select your preferred privacy setting for your workout.
If you took photos during your workout, you can change which photo is featured by tapping on any of the pictures below. This can only be done prior to saving your workout. Once the featured photo is highlighted in green, click Make Cover at the bottom of your screen. Up to five photos may be added to your workout.
You can now customize which stats are featured in your workout post by choosing Select Stats prior to saving. By default, three stats will be auto-filled; however, you can change these stats by tapping once on the stat you'd like to replace, and then once on the stat below that you'd like to have featured.
To sync your workout to our servers, tap the arrow next to "Save Workout" and choose "Save Workout" at the bottom of the page.
Important note: if you do not have a photo associated with your workout, you cannot customize the stats that are featured on your workout post.
Log a Workout
Logging a workout is best reserved for indoor/stationary workouts that do not use GPS to measure distance, or for workouts you have already completed.
To log a workout on our mobile app, open the menu by tapping the "More" icon in the bottom right of the Track Workout screen. From the "Log Workout" page, you can enter the workout's date, activity type, route (if applicable), distance, duration, caloric burn, and more by tapping the "Additional Stats" header. Be sure to select your desired privacy setting and tap "Save" when finished in the upper right corner.
Viewing Workouts
A list of your most recent workouts can be viewed in-app or online at any time. To view previously recorded and saved workouts, tap the Training icon in the navigation menu, then the "Workouts" tab at the top of the screen.
Activity Feed
Your Activity Feed is where all content generated by you, your friends, and the community is shared. As long as the privacy setting is set to "friends" or "public," all workouts or posts created by your friends can be viewed here, much like the Newsfeed on Facebook.
To view, you and your friends' workouts and posts, tap the Feed icon in the navigation menu. You can toggle between Explore, Friends, and Me views.
Challenges
To create and join fitness challenges, tap the "Challenges" icon in the navigation menu. You can scroll left to right to view "My Challenges" (challenges you are currently participating in) and "New Challenges" (sponsored challenges that are currently active, but that you have not joined). You can also click Friend Challenges and tap the "Create Challenge" icon in the top center to create your own challenge with friends!
More
To view and edit profile information, set goals, view routes, and connect to various apps or devices, tap the "More" icon in the bottom right of the Track Workout screen. You will be presented with a menu that allows you to choose from a variety of app features and functions.
App Settings
To change notification preferences and to customize various in-app settings, including voice feedback, auto-pause, delay start, unit preferences, and more, tap the "More" icon in the bottom right of the Track Workout screen > then scroll down and select "Settings" from the menu.
