Voice Feedback is a feature to help you stay informed on your activity without needing you to look at the screen. It consists of audio cues and workout stats from our app through your device's speaker or headphones and is enabled by default.
To enable/disable voice feedback visit the app settings or "Workout Setup" screen by tapping the Settings icon in the upper right corner. There is an on/off toggle, a volume slider to control the loudness of the voice, and toggles for different types of feedback. Intervals for voice feedback can be based on either time (30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10minutes and 20 minutes) or distance (.1, .25, .5, 1, 2, 5, 10, and 25 miles or kilometers).
You may need to readjust the volume when switching from the device speaker, headphones or Bluetooth audio.
On Android, the voice you hear from voice feedback is controlled by your Android device. To change the voice, from your device's Settings > Language & Input > Text-to-speech output. You may want to search the Google Play Store for a new Text-to-speech voice in your preferred language or that suits you better.
Android users please note: voice feedback will not work with "Do Not Disturb" mode enabled. In addition, if you are using Bluetooth headphones, you will need to disable the "in-call" volume feature in order to hear Voice Feedback.
Distance-based voice feedback is dependent on which system of distance measurement units (imperial or metric) is selected in the general app settings, and on outdoors recordings having a good GPS signal. If it does not produce accurate voice feedback you'll need to follow our GPS troubleshooting steps.
If you are using a watch such as an Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy watch to record your workouts and would like voice feedback, please see below for more information on your specific device.
