Don't remove Gear Tracker
Featured AnsweredGear Tracker from the website is very useful! The app version of it is terrible and mostly unusable because I don't run with my phone. Please don't remove the Gear Tracker from the website! I use it religiously!

Hi Elijah! We appreciate your feedback about our upcoming changes to the website. The Gear Tracker will now only be accessible in the mobile app. We will review and consider user feedback as we continue to build and improve our apps and sites.

I am another that is asking that you reconsider removing gear tracker from the website. For starters, for some of us it is easier to use a website than our phones/apps. In fact, I can't even figure out how to add which shoes I wore on my runs on the app.
I'll be honest, the two features that keep me on here are and not in any order, The challenges and gear tracker. To be honest, without the gear tracker, I would probably stop using the site/ap. -
If the gear tracker is removed I am done using mapmyfitness. This feature was the primary reason I started using this site the first place. I was using Microsoft Band (already a few years back) and Microsoft did not have any built-in gear tracking. I have since switched to Garmin which does have its own gear tracking but continued to use mymyfitness to bridge the gap for gear tracking that was already in progress. But if mapmyfitness no longer has gear tracking on the main site, I am not sure what it offers me compared to just switching and entirely using Garmin connect for all my fitness tracking needs.

Please keep the website's Gear Tracker functionality. After each run, I edit the workout via website to add the shoes that were used. When editing a workout via Android app, I have never found any option to add the shoes that were used. Also the Gear Tracker section of the Android app doesn't even show my current shoes.

I have been a paid member of MapMyRun for many years. I would be willing to continue my paid version if you keep Geartracker. I understand that maintaining both website and mobile app are two different things, but Geartracker is essential. It's part of what makes MapMyRun so useful. Please reconsider.

Please keep Gear Tracker available on the website! I cannot use it on the app, it doesn't work and it's very frustrating to struggle with it. I love being able to go back and change gear used on a workout, after the fact, on the website.
I discovered Gear Tracking a couple of years ago and have found it to be absolutely invaluable as a runner who is finally taking it seriously enough to need to have some way to easily track shoes. The best way for me is to have it as part of my overall workout tracking. If you get rid of it, then I guess I will have to leave MapMyFitness altogether and find another product that works for me.
I have been with you for almost 20 years, and I would hate to lose this relationship.

What is the intent behind removing gear tracker on the website? I am a MVP Member (since 2008) and losing the gear tracker function could be the deal breaker in my renewal decision. I love a lot of MapMyRun features (I.e. editing maps, create routes, etc.), but losing the gear tracker would be devastating.

Gear Tracker isn't user friendly on the app. Please don't remove it from the website as well. I will be another customer leaving for a different running app if you remove it. Literally only use MapMyRuns for the gear tracker and history of my runs to keep me motivated. Having multiple shoes to track makes the gear tracker a much desired part of the app/website.

Please do not drop Gear Tracker. It is very useful to know about when to retire my shows. As others have stated, this would be a deal-breaker for me on renewal. It would be good to add shoes to the set list as it apparently only lists shoes that are available on line thru Zapatos or something. It also should remove retired shoes from the list that we select from when recording a run. Please DO NOT remove this very useful feature.

Thanks for removing Gear Tracker with no advance notice. All my shoes that are in my current training rotation are gone and don't show in the app. But it's really helpful to see ALL THE SHOES I'VE RETIRED.
I keep multiple pairs in my training rotation so I never wear the same pair two days in a row and I keep all the shoes at roughly the same mileage. The app currently makes doing this impossible. It was bad enough when you couldn't add a shoe that wasn't listed if your sales partner but now you've made it worse.
I doubt I'll renew as an MVP.

Gear tracker was one of the more useful features of the site. The mobile UI is very cramped and not well designed for prolonged use. I use the web version for this as it is easier to type and compare when you have multiple pairs in rotation. Taking this out is a step backwards. If I only wanted to use a mobile app, then their are other options with better UIs. What made MapMyRun stand out was the ease of use and better information display. If your goal is to reduce the usefulness of the Web version to force use of the mobile app, then I think you will find a number of people changing their loyalties.

I was very disappointed to see the Gear Tracker removed from the website for MapMyRun. I have used it for quite some time now to easily keep track of the mileage on my various running shoes. I prefer to use the website over the app for everything, so having GT available on the app is not something that interests me. Without GT on the web, I am likely to stop using MapMyRun altogether. Please reconsider your decision to drop GT, as you can see many of us liked it and used it regularly.
Thanks for your time.

I am very disappointed you removed gear tracker. It is the biggest reason I use this website. I have a Garmin so your app is completely redundant and will just be an added unnessary drain of my phone's battery. Plus now I don't know how many miles are on my shoes because you just dropped it.
-
NOOOO! Don't drop Gear Tracker! I need to see exactly how many miles I have on each pair of shoes, not just "miles left," like on the phone app because sometimes I have to keep wearing a pair until I can find a suitable new pair. Also, I am more comfortable adding shoes on the website, and since I rotate 3 pairs of shoes, I don't always remember to change the pair in the settings on the app. I used to go back and change that on the website... and now I can't!
